NIKAH SERVICE
Nikah
Congratulations on your decision to tie the knot.
We recommend the following steps in the process of officiating a Nikah ceremony
- We recommend that you go to your local town office to fill up the pre-application (marriage registration) – The town will give you an official form that our Imam can sign off while officiating the marriage ceremony
- Contact our Imam /office to set up a time for the Nikah
- Bring at least two witnesses – one from the groom’s family, and one from the bride’s family. It is highly recommended that the bride have a guardian. (Wali) with her during the ceremony. All the witnesses, Wali, the bride, and the Groom will need to have a valid photo ID.
- Decide the Mahr (Dowry) amount:- this is the gift that the groom is required to give the bride-it has to be mutually agreed upon (must be some material value). This is a requirement for the. Nikah to be valid.
- The agreed upon Mahr can be physically given at a later time if the bride so permits.
