Mount Sinai Muslim Center
The mosques of Allah should only be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and fear none but Allah. It is right to hope that they will be among the ˹truly˺ guided.
Verse 18, Surah Tawbah
Mt. Sinai Muslim Center
The Mount Sinai Muslim Center was established in 2010 as a non-profit religious organization. It is located on Mount Sinai Coram Road, close to the Washington Memorial Cemetery in Long Island.
The need for a place of worship in this area was envisioned by Dr. Mohammed Sameen, who saw the ignored wishes of the Muslim Community not just limited to Mt. Sinai, but also in the neighboring towns. Approximately four acres of land with two old barns and an old house were bought to convert one of the barns into a Masjid. Alhamdulillah, with the blessing of Allah (SWT) and a vibrant, generous community, a fully functional Muslim Center is in place which offers various services like religious, marriage, funeral interfaith, educational, etc.
وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْهُم مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ فَإِذَا سَجَدُوا۟ فَلْيَكُونُوا۟ مِن وَرَآئِكُمْ وَلْتَأْتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا۟ فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ ۗ وَدَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْ تَغْفُلُونَ عَنْ أَسْلِحَتِكُمْ وَأَمْتِعَتِكُمْ فَيَمِيلُونَ عَلَيْكُم مَّيْلَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ ۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن كَانَ بِكُمْ أَذًۭى مِّن مَّطَرٍ أَوْ كُنتُم مَّرْضَىٰٓ أَن تَضَعُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَكُمْ ۖ وَخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًۭا مُّهِينًۭا (١٠٢)

Sadaqah
Sadaqah removes sins. Sadaqah also acts as a purifier of sins. In a famous Hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” (Tirmidhi)
Mosque Donation
Mosques are as old as Islam itself; and just as the Prophet (ﷺ) helped to build the first mosque in Medina, you can help bring a masjid to people who’ve never known the blessings of praying together in a mosque. Help build a mosque for your ummah in need.
Zakat
Zakat is a mandatory donation of 2.5% of wealth to charitable causes every year that is required by most Muslims in most countries. It is the third pillar of Islam and is considered a form of worship. Zakat is given to the poor, travelers in need, and other specifically designated groups of people.
